If you need to work with retainers or upfront payments we support the following cases:

1. Classic retainers. When you need to get one or multiple upfront payments for a big project. In this case, the retainer balance will be spent by multiple invoices.
2. Recurring retainers. When you have a monthly/weekly/etc number of prepaid hours and need to charge extra if they are exceeded. The unused retainer balance is not moved to the next recurring period.
